Looking southeast from the sidewalk on N. Highland Ave., this photo shows the center of the site which has been excavated to remove concrete, old parking lot materials and other debris that would inhibit the ability of water to remain on the site. A slight slope was also created so rainwater flows toward the bio-retention pond. This part of the park will be covered with local zoysia spreading grasses that are drought tolerant and require no additional watering other than rainwater,
