Thanks to the support of 43 Founding Member families, we’ve raised $643,000 — nearly 70% of our total goal. We're closer than ever to making John Howell Park a safer, more accessible playground and greenspace. As we close out the first quarter of the year, the behind-the-scenes work — the essential, but less glamorous part — is in full swing.

What's happening right now:

  • Working through project details with contractors
  • Preparing for the permitting process
  • Pursuing additional grant funding
  • Exploring city funding opportunities

Join Our Community Kickoff March 29 — Party In the Park!

Next Sunday, March 29, we're hosting a casual get-together at the John Howell Park playground right after the VHCA’s annual neighborhood yard sale. This is a great chance to gather with neighbors, let the kids play, and learn more about the exciting plans for the park.

  • When: Sunday, March 29 | 3–5 PM
  • Where: John Howell Park Playground
  • Food: Light bites and refreshments
  • Activities: Kids games and prizes
