JHP Renovation

John Howell Park is the largest park in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. While it is technically owned by the City of Atlanta, the VHCA assists with park maintenance. In 2021, the VHCA took on the major project of revisioning and completely remodeling John Howell Park. This will be a multi-year project with extensive funds needing to be raised. Parks Maintenance

Did you know that the VHCA helps maintain our three local parks. North Highland Park is privately owned by the Virginia-Highland Civic Association. Both John Howell Park and Orme Park are public parks, but the VHCA assists in keeping them in their best shape. In addition, our parks committee maintains the triangle in the main commercial node. Would you like to ensure our neighborhood is a beautiful place to live with great green spaces? If so, select "Parks Maintenance" in the Fund drop-down box below.

General Fund

The VHCA has many functional committees that support the neighborhood. These committees are Fundraising and Events (Summerfest, Tour of Homes, and any social events in the community), Parks, Planning, Transportation and Safety, Communications, Education, History and Preservation, Budget and Grants. Whether it's working with neighbors on a variance, improving the parks, decorating the neighborhood at the holidays, or one of our beloved social events, the VHCA helps to make these things happen. Brandenberger Fund

Our President, from 2016-2022, David Brandenberger, passed away suddenly in August. He leaves behind his wife Dana and son Eric. In addition he leaves behind a legacy to the neighborhood. He helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for VaHi and was instrumental in giving out more than $150,000 in grants to local schools and small businesses. Would you like to contribute to his son's education fund? If so, select "Brandenberger Fund" in the drop-down box below.
