Traffic Advisory: Free to Breathe 5K Road Race

The Free To Breathe Atlanta 5K Road Race will take place this Saturday morning August 17 starting at 8:00 AM. The race will start at John Howell Park and will wind through the VaHi and Morningside neighborhoods.

No street closures for this race, but there will be rolling closings of cross streets as runners pass by. The race and post race activities should be over by 10:00 AM.

Here’s a description of the race route:

– Right on Greencove from Virginia

– Left on Clemont

– Right on Park

– Right on Elkmont—bear left

– Right on Brookridge

– Left on Amsterdam —merge to Courtenay

– Left on Greenland

– Merge to Hillpine

– Merge to Northview

– Right on Courtenay – merge to Amsterdam

– Right on Brookridge

– Left at Elkmont/ Brookridge

– Bear right on Elkmont

– Left on Park

– Left on Clemont

– Right on Greencove to finish

– 7:00 AM – Registration & check-in

– 8:15 AM – Welcome rally

– 8:30 AM – Run begins

– 8:35 AM – Walk begin

– 9:15 AM – Awards ceremony/closing remarks
